Kathleen Turner with the supporting cast of The Exonerated

In 2000, two writers took on a daunting task when Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen set out to chronicle the stories of six innocent survivors of death row. These people were sentenced to death by the court system and later absolved of their crimes. The Exonerated, playing off-Broadway, at 45 Bleecker Theatre, rotates its cast every week with a special-guest superstar, supported by the permanent troupe, stepping into the lead. The night The Sheet attended, Kathleen Turner graced the stage with her hallmark, powerful presence.
