Christopher
Reeve didn't have to ask twice when he approached
Liam Neeson about hosting the Christopher Reeve
Paralysis Foundation benefit. It seemed appropriate
after Neeson's harrowing motorcycle crash with a
stray deer last July. "I think the deer was sliced
into sirloin steaks," Neeson quipped on a lighter
note. The event raised more than $2 million, which
included a live auctiona table at Rao's with
Mike Piazza fetched $35,000 from Marsha Williams
(Robin's other half). High-wattage supporters included
dinner chairs Francine Lefrak and Rick Friedberg,
co-host Natasha Richardson, Dana Reeve, Kim Cattrall,
Bobby Kennedy Jr., Billy Baldwin, Matthew Modine,
and Patty Hearst. A super-moving night!
