The red carpet outside the Ziegfeld Theater dazzled with stars and exclusive guests at the Hairspray premiere. Michelle Pfeiffer, Amanda Bynes, John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Brittany Snow, and Zac Efron were all there to promote their box office hit. New starlet Nikki Blonsky, who until a year ago was just a high school girl working at Cold Stone Creamery on Long Island, was camera ready for her close-up. We also spotted Katie Holmes, Duncan Sheik,
and Kelly Preston.

The after-party was held at Roseland, where director Adam Shankman and guests Lance Bass, Bernadette Peters, and Alexa Vega enjoyed Southern fare of macaroni and cheese, collared greens, and fried chicken.
