Hot shot celebs and socialites—both famous and infamous—schmoozed up a storm at a cocktail fest at Lutèce to tout The Hampton Sheet’s Spring 2002 issue featuring cover girl Kim Cattrall. Guests included Ivana Trump, NBC’s Felicia Taylor, Charles Gargano, Eileen Fulton (42-year veteran of As the World Turns), attorney Mickey (“Skakel Case”) Sherman, Ann Rapp, Lisa Gastineau, Geoffrey Thomas, Court TV’s Rikki Klieman and former police commish Bill Bratton, RFR Realty honcho Richard Farley, Sal Marchiano, Betsy McCaughey, Barbara and Donald Tober, Philip Smith and Tricia Walsh Smith, and a slimmer, exuberant Monica Lewinsky—who was very cooperative with photogs and the well-heeled guests who lined up to have their pix snapped with her…Eventually she had to beg for mercy! An Ungaro-clad Hampton Sheet publisher Joan Jedell hosted the event.

At the elegant post-cocktails dinner for a smaller, more intimate group, Ivana, the ultimate storyteller, had everyone in stitches with her escapades: She recalled seeing Mama Mia!, in which one character arrives on a Greek island with dozens of Louis Vuitton suitcases—who reminded Ivana of herself. Later she found out the writers actually modeled the character after her!

All raved about the new ambience at Lutèce, as well as the flair of very young executive chef David Féau. The sumptuous six-course dinner consisted of appetizers like smoked sea bass and whipped potato topped with caviar, baby mache salad, steamed John Dory with vegetables, and fingerling roasted potatoes and marjoram sauce; an entrée of seared filet of beef with glazed French beans and asparagus in morel sauce; and for dessert, chocolate fingers with whipped cream and verbena infusion, and citrus gelee in orange water “blanc manger” with Szhuan pepper sauce and grenadine. And don’t think guests left empty-handed: Each was given a fab goody bag compliments of Calvin Klein, featuring lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, blush, and men’s and women’s fragrances. Whew!
