The Kiss

Princess Yasmin Aga Khan's annual fundraiser for the Rita Hayworth Foundation to fight Alzheimer's honored Claudia Cohen at the Waldorf glamour gala of the year. Regis Philbin emceed the night, which culminated in a throbbing dance-a-thon to Ashford and Simpson's blowout soul sounds. The Very Rich & Glitzy included gala chair Susan Hess, corporate chair Earl Graves, Gail and Carl Icahn, Anne Hearst, Muffie Potter Aston and Dr. Sherrell Aston, Cornelia and Marty Bregman, Nurit Kahane Haase, Freddie Fields, John and Andrea Stark, Elie Wiesel, Dr. Martin Citron, Burt and Judith Resnick, and Leona Helmsley, svelte and wrinkle-free, touting new beau Dr. Patrick Ward. I heard the hardest thing about going to the slammer for this 80-year-old billionairess was revealing her age… but don't shed tears for this Merry Widow—she's having a ball parading around her new boy-toy half her age. And talk about spectator sports—the duo played tonsil hockey and footsie all night long, and later joined a select group for a late nightcap upstairs at Rick and Kathy Hilton's Waldorf spread. Go, Leona!
