The Breakers transformed into a midsummer night’s dreamscape for the “The Enchanted Garden” Heart Ball for Valentine’s day. Wood sprites and fairies danced the 400 guests into the floral set created by master designer S. Michael Ereshena, Palm Beach’s maestro of glorious events.

The esteemed ball has been a Palm Beach social staple for 48 glorious years, raising funds for lifesaving cardiovascular research and programs for the American Heart Association like “Heart Heroes,” which sends Florida children with heart disease to camp each summer.

The crown jewel of the evening was the luxury live auction. Premium treasures for bidding included a seven-day voyage for two aboard the ship “The World” of ResidenSea to anywhere on the planet, a scrumptious seven-day London holiday courtesy of the British Luxury Council, and a spectacular diamond and yellow sapphire earrings and necklace set by Kanaris Fine Jewelry. The evening was a fantasy of beauty and charity, which had more than one heart skipping a beat.
