Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Marty Richards, Robert De Niro

Stars and friends toasted legendary film and Broadway producer Marty Richards at his 80th birth- day celebration at the Rubin Museum of Art. Those honoring the Oscar and Tony winner included a robust- looking Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Robert De Niro, Lance Bass, Tony Ingrao, Marla Maples, Chita Rivera, Clive Davis, Rob Marshall, Tony Danza, and Steve Guttenberg. Douglas, a cousin of Richards's late wife Mary Lee Johnson, gave a speech in which he thanked Richards for the opportunity he gave Zeta-Jones when she starred in Chicago, for which she won an Oscar.

Douglas also remarked, "He is family. He happens to be a great producer and a generous, funny young man." Richards, who mentioned he'd had a tough year health-wise, told the crowd, "I'm rich because I have such dear friends. I've had a remarkable life. When I was growing up in the Bronx, I never imagined a life like this. I may have dreamed it, but I never thought it was possible." Then, on a lighter note: "I wish I had Michael's hair, Catherine's face, and Chita's talent." Marty, we love you!
