Donna Karan hosted the Showtime premiere screening of the The Big C (a new series about cancer) at her waterfront East Hampton estate. Karan had good reason to open up her home for the event as the designer lost her husband, Stephen Weiss, and a best friend to cancer. The glitzy, SKYY vodka-fueled event rang in an A-list crowd including Showtime CEO Matt Blank, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Gabourey Sidibe, Mark Ruffalo, Oliver Platt, Edie Falco, Olivia Palermo, Linda Wells, Reid Scott, John Benjamin Hickey, and the star of the new series, Laura Linney. Linney has been known to have a hard time watching herself on screen, as she often leaves the room and later returns, as she did at this screening.
