It was a party worthy of those four Manhattan vixens—Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte—of HBO’s award-winning comedy Sex and the City. The show’s stars and an orgy of celebs paraded on the pink carpet (red just clashes with summery Manolo Blahniks) into The American Museum of Natural History’s Powerhouse for the hit series’ fifth season premiere screening at the Samuel and Ethel LeFrak Theatre. But since when is motherhood part of Sex and the City? A both visibly pregnant Sarah Jessica Parker (her first) and Cynthia Nixon (her second) were dressed for two! When asked whether her pale pink chiffon dress plus the pink carpet might be omens of a baby girl, Parker smiled, “I can’t lose either way, I’d love either.”

Did the double pregnancies present a tricky task of cover-up for the show’s crew? Kim Cattrall explained that the show’s team of experts used strategically placed props, tummy-hiding clothes, and even less footage of the gang on city sidewalks. In the end, however, Mother Nature dictated that the season’s usual 13 episodes be trimmed to eight!
