Debra Messing kicked off the opening day of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge in Bridgehampton, where she was joined by Aretha Franklin, B. Smith, Reggie Jackson, Wilmer Valderrama,Nello Balan, and Michelle Rodriguez for an exclusive reception in the VIP tent that included cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds from the event, which continued for six consecutive social Saturdays (photos from all six), went to the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. Now this is our kind of sport—but then, most VIPers were eyeing each other rather than the game, which seemed like more of a backdrop for all the schmoozing that took place.
