British actress, singer, wife, mother, producer, philanthropist. Dame Celia Lipton Farris is going stronger than ever. She was honored by the ultra-prestigious Historical Society of Palm Beach with a private dinner at Club Colette for her contributions to the town including the Victor W. Farris Medical Building at Good Samaritan Hospital, built in honor of her late husband.
Dame Celia never stops doing for others while always adding a quality of life to someone’s future. And her talents on the stage are endless. Last year she was inducted into the New York Theater Hall of Fame with a permanent showcase installed in the lobby of the Gershwin Theater on Broadway featuring her Broadway and London stage work.
Dame Celia is the fodder of gossip columns and blogs here in the US and abroad almost on a daily basis as they scribe about her comings and goings. New York Post Page Six editor Richard Johnson has been chronicling her for 20 years as well as gossip columnists Cindy Adams, Liz Smith, and the late great Neal Travis.
Released last year, her self-written tome, My Three Lives, a coffee table masterpiece, did well in the US and England with all the proceeds going to her favorite charities.
