Les Miz leading man Hugh Jackman was honored at the Museum of the Moving Image Salute gala at Cipriani Wall Street. Respected for his rare range that can portray both alpha-male Wolverine and the fl amboyant Boy From Oz, Jackman was applauded by Hollywood A-listers who included costar Anne Hathaway, Mike Nichols, Rachel Weisz, Liev Schreiber, and Christopher Nolan.

 We chatted up the honoree about his most recent role, in Tom Hooper’s wildly celebrated film adaptation of Les Misérables: “Jean Valjean is a bit like playing Hamlet. It’s one of those iconic roles. It was rising above all of the greats who played him before, and saying, okay, I’ll give my version of it.”
