Evelyn Lauder

The Waldorf was awash in fabulous hues of pink as dedicated supporters donned their best black-tie attire to show their support for Evelyn Lauder's Breast Cancer Research Foundation (founded in 1993) at the Hot Pink Party Goes Cool benefit gala.

The crowd went wild with applause and gyrated at their tables like they were at a rock concert (even Ms. Lauder herself) when Sir Elton John joined songbird Sheryl Crow onstage for a duet of "The First Cut Is the Deepest." Rock 'n' soul, what a combo!

Elizabeth Hurley emceed the event (the newlywed looked as gorgeous and glamorous as ever), and both Myra Biblowit (president of the BCRF) and Dr. Larry Norton (Memorial Sloan-Kettering) took to the dais to offer their supportive statements.

This evening marked the BCRF's most successful event to date, bring-ing in an unprecedented $5 mil to fund innovative clinical and genetic research for battling breast cancer.

In the pink: Martha Stewart, Bill Mack, Dottie Herman, Vera Wang, Wilbur Ross and Hilary Geary, Emmanuel Perrin (CEO of Van Cleef), Leonard Lauder, Pamela Fiori, Donna Karan, Vanessa Minnillo, and Bobbie Brown, among others.

Hot pink has never been cooler.
