Like a fresh flower budding in spring, the Strang Cancer Prevention Center's Garden of Hope Gala was in full bloom at the Metropolitan Club, raising $260,000 (with an additional $200k in gifts) for cancer prevention. The center is the oldest cancer-prevention institute in continuous operation in the U.S.
Iris Cantor served as honorary chair of the elegant evening, which honored Dr. Michael Osborne for his countless contributions to the cause.
Chairs Dana Hammond Stubgen, Cynthia Lufkin, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Sharon Bush, Somers Farkas, Karin Luter, and Joanne de Guardiola were joined by attendees Mario and Matilda Cuomo, Debbie Bancroft, Audrey Gruss, Mario Buatta, Ralph Destino Jr., Janna Bullock, Michele Gerber Klein, Tatiana and Campion Platt, Frances Hayward, Randy Kemper, Patty Raynes, Andrea Stark, Dr. Richard Rivlin, Tony Ingrao, and Gillian and Sylvester Miniter.
The glamorous Garden of Hope was yet another shining moment in Strang's long tradition of saving lives through early detection and treatment of cancer.
