Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson

It was an evening fit for a king as Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson (a.k.a. Fergie), looking trim and fabulous, played emcee alongside the Today show's Ann Curry at the ultra-elegant Viennese Opera Ball at the Waldorf, to benefit SOS Children's Villages (creating homes for orphaned and abandoned children).

The gala began with the highest level of pageantry, an invitation-only VIP reception in the Louis XVI Room, and cocktails in the Astor Salon and Jade Room, followed by the opening ceremony featuring the Grand March of dignitaries and members of the royal houses of Europe. A team of white horses led a life-size carriage, delivering the fabled Cinderella to the ball, as diplomats and debutants enjoyed an evening of regal splendor.

Celeb deejay Paul Sevigny revved up the late-night party with a little help from an authentic Vienna coffee-house to welcome in the weary night owls, including the likes of Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera, Alessandra Balazs, HSH Prince Alexander, Ben Vereen, Ed Libby, Baroness Bridget Helene, Clair Glover, Kristian Laliberte, and Caline Pinto.
