Sirio Maccioni, Daniel Boulud
New York gourmets gathered at the chic Daniel to sample a delectable five-course meal whipped up by none other than Daniel Boulud himself to support Citymeals-on-Wheels (which benefits homebound elderly). NBC Anchor Felicia Taylor presided over the sumptuous feast—which doubled as a 10th anniversary celebration for the restaurant Daniel. Auctioned off to raise a cool $100,000 for the cause were gourmet trips and wine tastings. The most poignant moment of the evening, however, was Boulud welcoming his mentor, Sirio Maccioni, owner of Le Cirque (and Boulud’s former employer), entering his restaurant for the very first time. “Maccioni provided the springboard for my success, and taught me more than anyone about how to run a world-famous restaurant,” he stated.
