he American Museum of Natural History launched its pearl exhibit with “The Museum Ball Celebrates Pearls” gala, which drew guests like Muffie Potter Aston, John and Susan Hess, and Donald and Barbara Tober. Soft red lights illuminated the main entrance, and a live jazz band provided smooth sounds, before guests made their way to the main attraction: an amazing array of exotic pearls from around the world. The exhibit, which ended April 14, showed the fascinating way a pearl forms, as well as a myriad of pearls on gowns, rugs, and of course, jewelry. A soothing touch: the sounds of pearl divers on a continuous projection. It was one pearl of a party!
