Comedienne, queen of gab, actress, activist, and new co-host of The View—Rosie O’Donnell set sail with wife Kelli Carpenter O’Donnell and HBO Films to debut All Aboard! Rosie’s Family Cruise, a feature-length documentary offering a behind-the-scenes look at gay and lesbian folks on a vacation cruise to the Caribbean—now on DVD.

The film, which raises questions such as “What is a family?” and “Is it something defined by law, tradition, or love?” drew a packed crowd to the HBO Theater.

A diverse group of passengers—gay, lesbian, straight, young, and old—gathered to share their ideals in a protected and supportive setting.

A buffet reception followed the screening, and the overwhelming warmth felt by the guests was an excellent indication that the cruise this summer will be a huge success. What a way to sea the light!
