Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky

Last summer was the first event for the Christopher Reeve Foundation, held in the Hamptons, where Dana Reeve was so alive, dancing to the salsa band and chatting up the guests. It was just a few months before she received the devastating news of her lung cancer.

This year it felt strange to attend this event sans Dana, but still, A-listers turned out in droves to B. Smith’s in Sag Harbor to support the organization and the efforts of Christopher and Dana in the search for a cure for paralysis. In the mix: son Matthew and daughter Alexandra (from Christopher Reeve’s first marriage to model/actress Gae Sexton), Nathan Lane, and Howard Stern, who told us he loved Dana and what a good mother she was. “Will [Dana and Chris-topher’s son] loved his mother so much,” said a softer Stern.

On a lighter note, we asked Stern how he likes the change to Sirius Satellite. “I can say what I want and no one’s on my back.” (Oh yeah, how much more can you push the envelope?!) “So Howard, when are you going to have us on your show? But we won’t take off our clothes!” To which he quipped, “Oh yes you will!”

Hmmmm!

If you would like to show support, go to www.christopherreeve.org and purchase a Superman dog tag, which reads GO FORWARD.

Committing to the cure, Hamptons style!
