Wall-to-wall legends from the world of design and ranks of society filled the Rainbow Room for the annual Pratt Legends 2004 gala. The black-tie event, chaired by Marc Rosen and Juliana Curran Terian, benefited the scholarship fund of the Pratt Institute. Founded in 1887, it’s the oldest and largest school of higher education devoted to art, design, and architecture.

The evening’s emcee was WNBC anchor Chuck Scarborough. Guests enjoyed a classically elegant reception and dinner, which included Bellinis and chilled lobster, and a rousing performance by Neil Sedaka of his legendary hits “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” and “Love Will Keep Us Together.”

The 2004 Legend honorees included: fashion photographer Victor Skrebneski, advertising exec and Pratt alum Stanford Richards (founder of the Richards Group), architect Richard Meier, and Emanuel Ungaro.

All that glittered: architect (and former Legend) Robert Siegel, W’s Aileen (“Suzy”) Mehle, hotelier Ian Schrager, Pratt Prez Dr. Thomas Schutte, legendary fashion editor John Fairchild (WWD, W), Michael Thomas, Ahmet and Mica Ertegun, Nan Kempner, Catherine and David Hamilton, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Charles Mirotznik, Cynthia and Dan Lufkin, Charles and Betty Ann Gwathmey, Nancy Havens-Hasty, and Lynn Wyatt. The Sheet salutes the talent and ingenuity of these creative legends!
