Brunette bombshell Elizabeth Hurley played emcee to a throng of vips at the Waldorf for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s “Soiree Bouquet Gala.” This year’s Glam event not only raised big bucks but consciousness for the foundation’s main mission, which is “Prevention and a cure in our lifetime.” A laundry list of high-powered guests were on hand, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Founder Evelyn Lauder along with her hubby Leonard Lauder, Mayor Bloomberg, John Demsey, David Furnish, Aerin Lauder, Jo Carole and Ronald Lauder, Ingrid Sischy, Carolyn Maloney, Elizabeth Hurley’s new beau Arun Nayer, Phoebe Cates, and Vera Wang. What keyed this crowd up so much was a private concert with five-time Grammy winner Lionel Richie, who sang a few of his signature hits, plus two new tunes, one of them, a duet with sultry singer Enrique Iglesias. But soulful crooning wasn’t the only surprise pleasure of the night; for the evening included a special guest appearance by living legend Sir Elton John, and a silent auction—with such prizes as an exciting acting lesson with Kevin Kline, a Donna Karan Couture gown, and funky pink sunglasses from Elton’s own collection. The night kept us buzzing, long after the champagne bubbles floated out to sea!
