The National Audubon Society loves Mother Nature, and among the many creatures at its third annual Environmental Leadership Dinner was Bernard Marcus, director of Home Depot. Along with tree-hugging Florida conservationist Nathaniel Reed, Marcus was honored by the Society for his work in environmental conservation and education.

The Audubon, the nation’s largest bird and wildlife advocate, held the event at the habitat of the blue-blooded and Ivy League, University Club. Emcee Forrest Sawyer was assisted by a Capuchin monkey, red tailed hawk, great horned owl, anteater, bobcat, among others. Guests included Jonathan Farkas and Somers White, Sonia and Paul Tudor Jones, Felicia Taylor, Ann and Bruce Colley, Annie and Ed Pressman, Nina Reeves, and Cynthia and Donald Lufkin. The Audubon Society had quite the collection of rare birds, not to mention the magnificent plumage.
