Liam Neeson, Meryl Streep

Stars adorned Cipriani 42nd Street with glam-glam for the “Razzle Dazzle” Gala to benefit The Actors’ Fund. Producer Marty Richards got the “Medal of Honor” from Jerry Orbach, but not before a string of Broadway jewels delivered their tribute performances to the “Man of the Hour.” Among them were Liz Callaway, Jennifer Simard, Dee Hoty, Julia Murney, and Lillias White. Honors also went to Meryl Streep and People magazine’s Martha Nelson from Liam Neeson and Kyle MacLachlan. As Neeson presented the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award to his once (Before and After) leading lady Streep, they surely showed their mutual adoration by so many mutual embraces...hmmm.

Joan Rivers at the podium could have “stitched up” the audience even further with such funny lines as “Paris Hilton absolutely broke her parents’ heart...because she made her sex video in a Hyatt Hotel.” When we asked her why she only told one Paris Hilton joke, Rivers expressed her sensitivity to the fact that several in the crowd were close to the family.

This Gala’s stash was so filled with little treasures that we spotted some VHP (Very High Profile) guests taking two. (“One’s for my driver.”) Right!
