The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) honored Court TV CEO Henry Schleiff with its annual “Torch of Liberty Award,” recognizing his, as well as Court TV’s, diligence in the fight for justice. Regis Philbin hosted the Plaza Hotel dinner, which raised funds for the ADL’s battle against discrimination and bigotry. Delivering speeches of tribute were Alan Alda and Kerry Kennedy (who seems to have lost the “Cuomo,” according to the event’s journal, and her introduction before she approached the podium). Seated with her sis-in-law Maria Cuomo Cole, and Maria’s husband, Kenneth, Kerry carried herself elegantly in her sexy full-length gown, which accentuated her fit physique (hardly the image of a woman pining for lost love, these days!). Acknowledging the applause after delivering her deepest thanks to Schleiff for defending her on Court TV, Kerry stated, “When a gossip aims an arrow at you, Henry will provide his shield!”
