Snow in Palm Beach? Only at the New Year's Eve Nutcracker Masquerade Ball, where an indoor dusting of fabulous faux flakes was just one of the many surprises in store for party-goers. The event, hosted by Ballet Florida and Sutka Productions, was held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts to benefit the Ballet Florida Costume Fund.

Chairs J. David Veselsky Jr., Ken Elias, Cil Draime, Cedric Du Pont, and Lauri Welteroth kept revelers on their toes with performances by trapeze artists, contortionists, mimes, and costumed dancers.

Merrymakers included Joel and Nancy Hart, Ewa and Scott Diament, Massimo Comoli, Kristi Peacock, Shamin Abas, Claudia Bornia, Cynthia Friedman, John Elwood, Cheryl Gowdy, Stefania and David DiGiallorenzo, Delphine Du Pont-Feau and Guillaume Feau, and Cory Saban.

All involved would certainly agree that in this particular Nutcracker, reality was far more fantastic than any dream!
