The VIPs packed the party at the Museum of Modern Art to celebrate the launch of philanthropist and business leader Jonathan Tisch’s new book, Citizen You: Doing Your Part to Change the World, a call to action for people to use their professional skills to alleviate social problems.
Former President Bill Clinton, who lent an air of excitement to the festivities, said, “Public service is the most hopeful thing we have.” Museum president Marie Josee-Kravis commended Tisch for his exemplary citizenship and his family’s philanthropy.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg recognized the commitments of each of the Tisch family members who attended, including Lizzie, Joan, Alice, Tom, Billie, Laurie, Meryl, and Jim. He joked that the author was his “opening act,” since he was on his way to an event later that night with Bono.
Also in the boldface crowd were Charlie Rose, Gayle King, Amy Fine Collins, Rosanna Scotto, Chuck Scarborough, Agnes Gund, Arthur Sulzberger Jr., Jerry Speyer, and Harold Ford.
