The 21st annual Pratt Institute and Luxe Pack Art of Packaging Award Gala this year honored Coty Prestige. Over 200 guests attended the event (which raised over $250,000 for scholarships for graduating students) held at a private club, and hosted by Liz Cho. The scholarship in packaging design (for students looking to pursue careers in cosmetics packaging design) was established by internationally acclaimed designer Marc Rosen, who is also a Pratt trustee and alumnus.

The Art of Packaging Award is presented each year to a fragrance company that has excelled in the art form, and this year’s winner and honoree was accepted by Catherine Walsh, the company’s senior vice president, and the visionary behind celebrity fragrances for Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as designers Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Kenneth Cole, and Vera Wang. Walsh was introduced by Bernd Beetz, the CEO of the company. She graciously recognized Pratt student honorees, her current colleagues at Coty, and scholarship founder Marc Rosen, who teaches the only graduate course in the world in the design of fragrance and cosmetics packaging and spearheads the annual gala.

This glam black-tie bash proved that there’s nothing like a party with the Pratt Pack.
