Chelsea nonprofi t art space White Box hosted its first-ever Contemporary Art Masquerade Ball, themed The Dream of the Red Chamber.
A live cellist and sitar player were the perfect complement to the early evening, while DJ Rabbi Darkside’s beats inspired late night dancing, all
among the White Box’s sumptuous baroque décor created by Victor Carranza.
A silent auction featured masks created by the likes of William Wegman, Shimon Okshteyn, Keith Sonnier, Carolee Schneemann, and Lucio Pozzi.
Among the cognoscenti were art collectors Gale Elston, Ken Hollenbeck, Martin Liu, and Juvenal and Richard Reis. Funds were raised for White
Box’s Annual Exhibition program in support of contemporary artists and curators on the international scene. |
