A star-studded array of guests gathered for the Food Allergy Initiative Ball at the Plaza. FAI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the research, education, and treatment of food allergies. Founder and Gala dinner chairs Sharyn Mann and Todd Slotkin, both who have a child with food allergies, were joined by honoree Dr. Pat Cayne, Ellen Barkin and Ron Perelman, Mary and Robert Kennedy Jr., (their 8-year-old son has been hospitalized nine times because of his allergy to peanuts), Patti LuPone, Dan Aykroyd and Donna Dixon, Sirio Maccioni, Julian Niccolini, David and Julia Koch, Howard Gittis, Cece Cord, Beth DeWoody, Leba and Neil Sedaka, Michael Milken, Mickey Palin, and Bill and Phyllis Mack, among others were on hand.
Gary Marshall received the Public Awareness Award (named after him) by Ron Perelman and Penny Marshall during the award ceremony. Topping the night: a smash performance by Patti LuPone.
