Emily Jedell-Weiner
(2½ years old…how time flies!)

Guests in the red, white, and blue spirit enjoyed the beautiful oceanfront view at the Southampton Fresh Air Home’s 20th annual American Picnic, benefiting its residential camp for disabled children.

Carts filled with popcorn, hot dogs, and ice cream, a picnic buffet by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs, carnival games, and arts and crafts welcomed patriotic guests of all ages. Gabrielle Ross, winner of the 2006 Amateur Night at the Apollo, dedicated her stellar performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to the campers, and left the audience wanting more. The highlight was the Grucci fireworks, which lit up the sky over Shinnecock Bay.

Among the sparkling spectators: Christina Addison, Tania and Brian Higgins, Barbara Kugler, Christl and Ken Meszkat, Cathy and Malcolm Price, Catherine di Montezemolo, Barbara and Randall Smith, Patrick McMullan, Henry Buhl, and little Emily Jedell-Weiner.
