Chie once traveled the globe as a flight attendant, which exposed her to many cultures, climates, styles, and materials outside her native Japan. To create her signature line, "Mosaique de Chie," she combined her love of color with a sense of style and practicality, dyeing classic skins (such as mink, fox, and sable) in bright, bold hues and weaving the fur into lightweight, unique creations. Chie is now the exclusive furrier to Japan's royal family; in 1999, she brought her designs to the U.S., opening her flagship Madison Avenue store in 2002. Artistic, contemporary-Chie, so chic!
