Mandy Patinkin was honored at the Princess Grace Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street for his outstanding contribution to the arts. The Princess Grace Foundation-USA has bestowed numerous awards, honoraria, and grants to provide crucial support to emerging artists in America. Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor and singer Patinkin received the Prince Ranier III award, which was presented by Elaine Stritch.
Prince Ranier III of Monaco founded the foundation more than 25 years ago in honor of his wife, Princess Grace (Kelly), who in her lifetime supported emerging artists in theatre, dance and film.
Tommy and Dee Hilfiger chaired the gala, Maggie Rodriguez, anchor for The Early Show, was the evening’s emcee, and notable guests included HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Hon. John F. Lehman and Barbara Lehman, Hon. Maguy Maccario-Doyle, Yves Piaget, Laura and Harry Slatkin, Mariska Hargitay, Dr. Jon Turk and Carolyn Gusoff, and Lynn Wyatt.
The gala provied a luscious treat for art lovers and royal-watchers. Some guests were even hoping to add to the royal lineage, like Dee Hilfiger, who gushed about Prince Albert’s girlfriend, Charlene Wittstock, “He’s got to get that ring soon!” |
