Young Hollywood turned out for the Fine Line Features premiere of Storytelling, including Selma Blair (star of the flick), Mark Webber, Paul Giamatti, Noah Fleiss, Robert Wisdom, Leo Fitzpatrick, Nancy Anne Ridder, Aleska Palladino, Andrew Marantz, and director Todd Solondz—many of whom had tales to tell of making the controversial movie. Blair, out of character in the film with peroxide-pink hair, received hugs of congratulations for her acclaimed role and told The Sheet, “It was a change for me—difficult, but I’m glad I did it.” Slinky Selma, in a sexy black dress, seemed to be good friends with her movie-antagonist Robert Wisdom—the two were oh-so-close at the after-party. In response to his role, Wisdom said, “I wouldn’t call it fun.” Director Solondz’s previous credits include Welcome to the Dollhouse and Happiness, and as producer Ted Hope put it, “When you look at a film by Solondz, you know that only he could make it. He finds inner places to take actors that others dare not tread, and maintains a level of truth that is startling.”
