Fran Drescher
Icons of comedy like Dan Aykroyd, Rosie O’Donnell, Chevy Chase, Joy Behar, and Gene Wilder, not to mention celebs like Lee Grant, Ron Silver, Lorraine Bracco, and Martha Stewart turned out for Gilda’s Club’s seventh annual Comedy Gala at the Plaza. The event saluted Harry Belafonte, Fran Drescher, and Sam Waksal. The Sheet overheard one woman ask Behar what she did with her hair to look so good, to which she replied: “It’s not the hair, it’s the collagen!” Mark Green was also on hand, and quipped about his recent mayoral defeat: “I’m not mad—he bought it fair and square!” And Ron Silver told The Sheet: “I’m a native New Yorker and a diehard New Yorker. If I was the last man standing, I still wouldn’t leave.” One highlight: photographers swooned over Drescher, who really knows how to make love to a camera, and in the process one breast—obviously with a mind of its own—popped out of her low-cleavage dress. Rosie O’Donnell rushed over, spread her blue coat in front of Fran, and screamed, “No! No!” Maybe it was only a joke, Rosie!
