Seth Rudetsky, Matthew Broderick

Matthew Broderick arrived sucking on a throat lozenge, so sick he missed that night’s performance of The Producers—but he did make it to “Seth’s Broadway Chatterbox” at Don’t Tell Mama. The second anniversary show benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and in a chat with Seth Rudetsky, Broderick told the audience about his tough time making it to the top. After playing a “wall” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, he kept auditioning for parts until he landed his first movie role with Sally Field—but the flick never got made. And as far as rumors go about Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker calling it quits? Matthew emphatically denied it to The Sheet. So, we’ll just have to wait and see …
