Life, lust, love, and of course, the ladies...welcome back to the lesbian-themed, critically acclaimed Showtime series, The L Word, which began its second season on Feb. 20. A chic premiere at the Clearview Chelsea West Cinemas celebrated its highly anticipated debut, followed by a sizzling after-party held at Duvet in a cozy corner of Chelsea. Guests lounged (horizontally, that is) on 25 comfy oversized beds, which sprawled where traditional dining tables would usually be.
In the sultry crowd: L Word stars Jennifer Beals, Erin Daniels, Leisha Hailey, Katherine Moennig, Laurel Holloman, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Shelley, and Eric Lively; L Word’s Exec Producer/creator/writer Ilene Chaiken; Showtime’s top execs Matt Blank and Robert Greenblatt, and Huff star Hank Azaria; Kimberly Guilfoyle; Sandra Bernhard; Sessa von Richthofen; Richard Johnson; and Rosie O’Donnell, who got couch-cozy with wife, Kelli Carpenter. Look for Rosie’s appearance in three upcoming episodes of Queer as Folk, Showtime’s similarly themed male counterpart (now in its final season, which premiered May 22); O’Donnell will express a romantic interest in Sharon Gless, who plays the straight mother of a gay boy. All’s well that ends well....
