Architect and interior designer Campion Platt now adds textile titan to his resume, having celebrated the launch of his first textile collection, Metro Cloth, a new brand from Jim Thompson.
The high-profile cocktail party-hosted by Architectural Digest, Tatiana Platt (wearing a Nicole Miller number created from one of Metro Cloth's beautiful fabrics), Jay McInerney and Anne Hearst, and Nicole Miller-was held in a Chelsea penthouse festooned with hundreds of yards of fabric cascading from the ceilings and covering his new furniture line.
The collection, inspired by urban areas around the world (but especially New York), features gritty textures and bold, casual prints. Each design has a unique moniker: Crossroads, Concrete Jungle, 57th & 5th, Central Bark, and Haze.
Guests at the luxe launch included Anya Assante, Charles and Janice Gardner Cecil, Anisha Lakhani, Kristian Laliberte, Somers Farkas, Fabiola Beracasa, Janna Bullock, Heather Moore, Martin and Caroline Shnay, Jamie Drake, Melissa Berkelhammer, and Susan Shin.
