Cokie Roberts

The Save the Children’s award lunch at the Pierre toasted Cokie Roberts as recipient of the Women Leadership Award. The honor, presented by last year’s recipient Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, saluted Roberts’ accomplishments, including her hot 1998 read We Are Our Mother’s Daughters, which chronicles the diverse roles of women throughout American history. She was also recognized as a successful role model and political broadcast journalist, which has nabbed her numerous awards including an Emmy. Cokie’s supporters included event co-chairs Libby Pataki and Patricia Duff (who arrived with camera-shy daughter Caleigh), Courtney Arnot, Kathryn Hearst, Dorrit Morley, Lorraine Bracco, Andrea Stark, Barbara de Portago, Muffie Potter Aston, and Debbie Bancroft. The event promoted the global programs of Save the Children, a leading international child-assistance organization in 40 countries worldwide.
