Pink ribbons were in abundance as health advocates gathered at The Waldorf for a luncheon and symposium supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), founded by Evelyn Lauder. It was the first time the annual symposium, this year titled "The Impact of Breast Cancer on Quality of Life: It Isn't What It Used to Be," featured an all-female panel of the world's most distinguished scientists-Drs. Patricia Ganz, Pamela Goodwin, Electra Paskett, Edith Perez, and Annette Stanton.
Following the informative and inspirational discussion, First Lady Libby Pataki and René Syler presented special awards to Dr. Ganz and artist Chuck Close for their outstanding contributions to breast cancer research.
Among the supporters: BCRF President Myra Biblowit, Leonard Lauder, Roberta Amon, Trish McEvoy, Susan Finkel, Dr. Larry Norton, Patricia Quick de Visscher, Adrienne Vittadini, Anne Bass, Anne Eisenhower Flottl, Veronica Hearst, Coco Kopelman, and Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer.
Encouraging words for the future….
