Andrea Stark with Amstel
A-list canines and families chowed down at “Mrs. Stuyvesant Fish’s Doggie Dinner” to benefit the Humane Society of New York. This year the Society paid tribute to late supporter Bill Blass and featured a pure Blass-classic fashion show. True to the spirit of Mrs. Stuyvesant Fish—one of New York’s Victorian A-listers known for lavish parties in honor of pals’ pooches—the New York Carriage House drew the likes of Cece Cord and Yorkie Tiger, Nena Thurman with pup Lady Murasaki, Andrea Stark with Amstel, George Whipple with Jackie Ruggles, Michael Gross with Calpurnia, Ron Chereskin with Peugot, and Chuck Scarborough with pooch Oliver. A dining disaster was avoided when I nearly consumed a chocolate-covered doggie treat served on a silver platter—luckily I was redirected to the people chow just in time. A hit with all guests, this special event left no bone unturned.
