Prince Albert, Michael Bolton, Ronan Tynan (3 Tenors), Eileen Martin (Riverdance), Bobby and Hillary Marx, Anton and Robin Katz, Miss Teen USA Marissa Whitley and Miss Universe Denise Quinones savored the Princess Grace Awards at the Waldorf. Bolton had much to confide to the The Sheet: “The recent tragedies awakened my feelings of awareness that people need strength and reinforcement. We’ve been shaken to the core and know our fragility. But we can’t pretend to put ourselves in the place of the people who lost their loved ones. Now we need to come from our core and overcome. We need to be in touch with what we’re made of—that’s what tests us. I feel like I’m awake now.”
Missouri native Miss Teen USA, ready to lend a voice, talked to The Sheet about her influence on today’s youth: “Before September 11, I would have said, ‘Don’t let anything stand in the way of your dreams’—and that’s about it. But now we know how fortunate we are to be able to spend time with our families. We also see the impact of our influence as teens. Don’t be afraid and know you are the future of America. Use who you are to make a difference—don’t be afraid of success.” And New York roommate Miss Universe, who hails from Puerto Rico, told The Sheet if she had the chance to comfort America she’d say, “Follow my example. I was anxious, but I’ve kept on: I’ve traveled to Mexico, Peru, the U.S., and Hong Kong. Hold on to your spiritual life —because material things are here today and gone tomorrow.”
