Pastry Chef Patti Jackson with Chef Patrick Nuti
|
Pino Luongo’s Tuscan Square is just that—Tuscany to the max: the dusty terra cotta colors of Florence on the walls, authentic antiques, and on the tables oversized clear handmade platters embedded with seashells, starfish, wheat, leaves, and sunflowers. The multileveled restaurant is full of the aroma of true Tuscan flavors—rosemary, basil, and olive oil, to name a few.
The menu has an overall grilled flavor Italians call selezione: for starters, try chef Patrick Nuti’s grilled calamari with cucumbers and tomatoes, or jumbo shrimp with orange segments and frisee. Hit entrees include roasted marinated salmon, grilled asparagus and basil aioli, or steamed mussels and clams with white wine and garlic. If you’re after a rendezvous for a small or large group, curtains can be drawn in the restaurant’s circular corners, and if you’re pressed for time visit the self-service marketplace downstairs. One thing for sure—if the world ends tomorrow, I want to be at Tuscan Square devouring chocolate Bavarian cake and yogurt sorbet with roasted strawberries! 16 W51 • 212.977.7777 |
