Trump was saluted when the Hotel Group of UJA-Federation
of New York presented him with the "Hotel and
Real Estate Visionary of the Century Award"
at The Pierre. Most of the schmooz took place at
the cocktail hour, and a bomb dropped on the room
would have wiped out the Who's Who of international
real estate. The dinner was co-chaired by chairman
of Sun International Sol Kerzner, hotelier Ian Schrager,
P/R guru Howard Rubenstein, and Loews Hotels prez
Jonathan Tisch. The Donald, in rare form, had his
nearest and dearest in tow, including his mom, sons
Eric and Don Jr., forever personal assistant Norma
Foerderer, and of course main squeeze Melania Knauss
the Beautiful. Manhattan DA Robert Morgenthau presented
the award to Trump, political actor-vist Alec Baldwin
toasted, and Tony Bennett seduced and swung the
house into a frenzy.
