The always-elegant Uma Thurman recently took on a new role: chair of the Room to Grow auction at Christie's. Thurman, with boyfriend hotelier Andre Balazs by her side, helped bring a worthy cause to center stage for the evening. Room to Grow is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of babies born into poverty.
The room buzzed with energy as guests bid in live and silent auctions, featuring great gets such as a custom-designed couture gown by Donna Karan, a head-to-toe makeover by Vogue editors, courtside seats to the United States Open, and a luxurious Bahamas vacation.
Supportive guests included Ken and Julie Burns, Alessandra Balazs, Leven Rambin, Isabel Balazs, and Yildiz Blackstone.
In the end, Uma and friends created a priceless event that raised over $600,000.
