NYCB Annual Luncheon Co-chair Meera Gandhi with Valassis and Liana Makkos

Ballet enthusiasts sashayed and leaped to Lincoln Center for the New York City Ballet's Annual Luncheon, recognizing the 2006 Janice Levin Dancer, Sterling Hyltin, and highlighting "The World of Jerome Robbins."

A famed and prolific choreographer, the late Robbins was honored with a moving performance moderated by Deborah Jowitt and featuring Kristen Sloan, Andrew Veyette, Wendy Whelan, Sébastien Marcovici, Tyler Angle, Amar Ramasar, Daniel Ulbricht, and Amanda Edge of the New York City Ballet. Robbins began his legendary career as a dancer with American Ballet Theatre, thereafter choreographing and directing Broadway shows, including: On the Town, Pajama Game, The King and I, West Side Story (which won 10 golden statuettes, including a Best Director Oscar for Robbins, along with Robert Wise), Gypsy, and Fiddler on the Roof.

Following the performance, guests savored fabulous fare by Abigail Kirsch amidst the charming décor of David Monn, who transformed the Promenade into a garden party with white butterflies springing from all the centerpieces.

Pirouetting party goers: Chairs Jane Carroll, MaryAnne Gilmartin, Meera Gandhi, and Elyse Newhouse; Kimberly Rockefeller, Fe Fendi, Hanna Pakula, Nancy Sambuco, Nina Griscom, Brooke Neidich, Peter Martins, Jean-Pierre Frohlich, Teresa Reichlen, Coco and Arie Kopelman, and Alan Moverman.
