Lincoln Center was brimming with boldfacers at the 26th annual Literacy Partners Evening of Readings Gala chaired by Liz Smith and Arnold Scaasi and Parker Ladd. This year’s event exceeded fundraising goals, thanks to the generous support of New Yorkers from the worlds of fashion, design, and media.

Literacy Partners is New York’s only accredited adult literacy organization, which helps thousands of people learn the basic reading, writing, and math skills needed to succeed in everyday living.
Honorees this year were philanthropist and best-selling author Barbara Taylor Bradford and Robert Bradford for their leadership and dedication. Featured authors who read from their works included Sara Gruen (author of Water for Elephants), David Finkel (Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Good Soldiers), Mary Karr (author of two bestsellers, Liar’s Club and Lit), and Norris Church Mailer (widow of the late Norman Mailer and author of Windchill Summer and Cheap Diamonds).

Other attendees included Peter Brown, Kathie Lee Gifford and Frank Gifford, Joni Evans, Leslie Stahl, Mary Higgins Clark, Nina Rennert Davidson and Mitchell Davidson, Yanna Avis, Robert Zimmerman, Elizabeth Peabody, Susan Magrino, Cherie Blair, and Jane Friedman.
This smashingly successful black-tie evening included not only wining, dining, and readings, but spirited dancing, proving that these guests really know how to swing their Partners!
