It was more than a night to remember, created by Diana and her avid yachtsman husband, former PGA National Resort & Spa owner Llwyd Ecclestone. The occasion was in honor of their dear friend, British actress/singer/producer/philanthropist-turned-author, Dame Celia Lipton Farris.
The Ecclestones went all out in Palm Beach splendor, decorating the entrance of their oceanfront estate in lights with the title of Farris’ book, My Three Lives. The grounds were tented and full of over-sized photos from the book, creating an aura of an Academy Awards party.
The town turned out for her, including famed photographer Harry Benson, back from London after being knighted by the Queen, Lady Sharon Sondes and Jeffrey Thomas, Ruth and Ray Perelman, Craig and Michele Millard, Jesse and Rand Araskog, Patty and Buzz Myura, Ruth and Ray Perelman, David Weir, and Dr. David Dodson and Donna Ross.
When Farris got up to speak she deadpanned, “It took me twenty bloody years to do this book, that’s why you haven’t seen much of me.” This is an extraordinary woman whose life could have been lived by three different women. Her story introduces us to a constellation of stars, screen legends, and royalty—all during the glamorous golden era of Hollywood.
All proceeds from the sale of her books are donated to local charities including the American Cancer Society.
