The American Kidney Fund kicked off National Kidney Awareness Month with its second annual Spring Event at Water’s Edge in Long Island City.
The dinner—sponsored by Metrokane, Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer, Roslyn Savings Foundation, and Wing Lung Plastic & Metal Electric Factor—
honored Riki Kane Larimer, president of Metrokane, and Andrew Givens for their dedication to improving the health of millions of Americans suffering from or at risk for developing kidney disease.
Guests swung to the 1940s tunes of Stan Rubin, and toasted while taking in the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline from the ballroom.
They were also treated to a performance by Riki’s husband and business partner, Bob Larimer, who sang the song he wrote that was the backdrop for the couple’s first dance more than 20 years ago, appropriately titled, “Waltzing Through Life.” |
