The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Evelyn Lauder, held its symposium and annual awards luncheon at the Waldorf. It was a colossal success, raising over $1.8 mil to support the most advanced breast cancer research, while over 1,000 guests filled the Waldorf to show their support and witness $33 mil awarded to 172 of the most brilliant scientists from top research centers across the nation. Former President Bill Clinton opened the much-anticipated annual event. Pierce Brosnan presented the Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award to Judy Craymer, producer of Mamma Mia!, for her commitment to raising research funds.
