The Kidney and Urology Foundation hosted its Gala at the Harmonie Club to honor executive director Shirley Baer with the Woman of the Year Award. Sharla Castellanos received the Humanitarian Award for donating her kidney to John Catsimatidis - a one-in-a-million match whereby her DNA was closer to his than a twin sister's would have been! Guests Rita Cosby, Donna and Dick Soloway, Curtis and Mary Sliwa, Chris Cox and Andrea Catsimatidis, Jennifer and Les Goodstein, Christine Lategano Nicholas, and Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney joined sponsors Margo and John Catsimatidis for a wonderful dinner to honor these two very remarkable individuals. Entertainment by Jay Black of Jay and the Americans added to this sentimental celebration.
